Head case in point

Head case in point 2019
4K video, 2:05 duration
Cinematography: Sky Davies

This video was made for 'Six moments in Kingston', a large scale public art project commissioned by David Cross and Cameron Bishop. I was asked to make an artwork that responded to an infamous local incident from 1980, in which Essendon footballer Phil Carmen headbutt boundary umpire Graham Carbery at the Moorabbin football oval. The headbutt was highly controversial and led to a trial in the Supreme Court. Carmen was suspended for 20 matches. 'Head case in point' was screened at the St Kilda Football Club as part of a bus tour that visited site and context specific artworks by Tal Fitzpatrick, Spiros Panigirakis, Steven Rhall, Field Theory, Shane McGrath and myself in the City of Kingston.
